About two weeks ago I wrote about the incident of two newborn babies being swapped and how the father had supposedly been surprised by the little resemblance he shared with the baby. This didn’t make any sense to me.

Now Christian pointed out that the local version (close to Saarlouis where the incident happened) of the story mentions the fact that both parents were in fact under age and so, apparently, there’s automatically a paternity test administered. The justification for this seems to be that the rate of mothers denying or being forced to deny the true father is higher in such cases (which sort of makes sense).
