Personally, I first became aware of the fact that Canadians are a pretty nice and peaceful bunch of people by watching Michael Moore’s “Bowling for Columbine”. Even Terrance’s and Phillip’s fart jokes have so far failed to shake my idealized image of Canada and its citizens.

Apparently, I’m not the only one with this opinion and so Canadians are generally regarded as polite, peaceful but maybe also a bit dull. But this is about to change!

The Beaver (“Canada’s History Magazine”) is set out to show the world the dark side of mounties and other inhabitants (http://www.thebeaver.ca/bea.asp?subsection=ext&page=WC). It’s looking for “Canada’s most foul, useless, maligning and destructive human forces”. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18442021/

So far you have super villains such as Shania Twain, Celine Dion and Harold Ballard (a former hockey team owner) competing for the title. Tough choice…

Just for comparative purposes: the readers of the BBC History Magazine chose serial killer Jack the Ripper as the worst Briton in history in a 2005 poll (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worst_Britons_(BBC_History_poll)). But good ole Jackie is obviously a wuzz compared to Harold.
